My painting is a passion inspired by the mood, light and the colours of the environment that surrounds me. My studio is based on the fringe of Wadebridge, North Cornwall. For a number of years my work would be painted in more of a traditional style but found the urge to explore and experiment further.
For the past 12 years my work has evolved and has taken on more of a semi- abstract role inspired by the cubist art movement, one of the most significant art movements of the twentieth century. A painting style that has always intrigued me. Cubist founders Picasso & Braque reduced their subjects to basic geometric forms, rejecting the traditional philosophy that art should copy nature. I have studied this form and adapted the style to suit the environment I find myself in.
I produce my work in many mediums but prefer acrylic and oils for their strength of colour and versatility using a limited palette.
I exhibit my paintings in galleries across Cornwall and now London, my work has sold internationally and added to many private collections.
